8/19/2010

The rain has been replaced by the summer fog. Every morning is dripping wet. The sun usually peeks out around 11am. No complaints, tho. Nancy and I have been playing local gigs, and really enjoying it. We are testing the name "Bohemian Highway" for our band.

5/17/2010

Well, it is still raining in May. But I sure would prefer the rain to a drought. There hasn't been a drought of music in my life, however. Check out my gig page to see what I am up to.

WELCOME 2009! Today is the inauguration of President Obama! The changes to come can almost be tasted...

I am hitting the ground running....I've got a lot of music to present this year and I can hardly wait.

DOUG BLUMER PERFORMS WITH:

MISISIPI RIDER - Misisipi Mike Wolf and Cree Rider front this acoustic four piece band. I am on bass and Katy Rexford on fiddle. All original material. Think John Hartford meets The Band.

THE COUNTRY SQUIRES - Country classics and country rock originals

Maurice Tani, Mike Wolf, Doug Blumer and Christopher Fisher

ROCK SOUP RAMBLERS: A worthy acoustic group that mixes familiar favorites and originals. Come sing-along!. We've got 5 singers steering this ship! Steve Owen, Kurt Stevenson, David Reidy, Michael Romanowski ....we are not ashamed to cover John Denver!

THE LATE BLUMERS: This is a trio so far...myself,

Kent Fossgreen on Bass and Nancy Irish guitar and vocals.

THE WESTERLEYS: Totally awesome harmonies. We play original folk-pop tunes. Nancy Terzian and Peter Axtell.

THE BEERHUNTERS - I front this band of veteran musicans playing a 50/50 mix of country honky tonk standards and my own material. The band is: Paul Olguin, Ken Owen, Jeff Hanson. This is the ULTIMATE BAR BAND!!!

FEBRUARY 2012 - February 2, 2012

GROUNDHOG DAY....Apparently, the groundhog saw his shadow, so that means 6 more weeks of winter....or in our case, 6 more weeks of NO winter. Either way, we here at Bohemian Highway Headquarters are writing more songs, and working on the new album.

HAPPY 2012 - January 3, 2012

Wishing all my fans, friends, and fellow musicians a most Happy and Healthy New Year. 2012 will feature Doug playing with BoHighway, as well as Misisipi Rider and The Westerleys. Keep checking back for details!!!

BOHEMIAN HIGHWAY - September 25, 2011

The Bohemian Highway had a wonderful gig at the Pacific Coast Fog Festival in Pacifica, CA.
The lineup was anchored by the bass wizard, Rob McLucky! Michael Romanowski was featured on electric guitar, vocals and washboard. Barbee and Ms. Emily stepped up to the mic stand and helped round out our fat harmonies. Of course, my sidekick, Lady Aye, decked out in hot green kept the rhythm guitar working hard. Great Fun.
